POPE FRANCIS’S SYNODAL CHURCH
We in Root & Branch have always wholeheartedly supported Pope Francis’s Synodal Church process in its desire to walk together, listening deeply to each other, and to its stated aim to hear “every voice”.
We should remember that the early followers of the Way were never ‘laity’ because Jesus never ordained anyone. As the Church became clerical, so did discernment move from the people. Now it is time for our voice to be heard, and to hear each other.
We are currently analysing calls for reform from all 22 of the Diocesan Syntheses in England and Wales against our Bristol Text . The Bristol Text is a statement of fundamental principles which embody the discoveries we have made on our journey of discernment. We have offered it to the Vatican as a way forward for a safe, just and inclusive church.

AN IMPORTANT SUMMARY
We’ve asked people to send in their parish submissions along with a couple of quotes and some idea of how the listening process took place.
